I'm Huy, an AI and full-stack engineer based in Almere. I build web apps, mobile apps and AI features end to end: database, API, interface, deployment and monitoring. I've worked as a developer for about four years, and since 2026 I also run my own software studio, The Next Beacon.

Recent work
- Lorenly: a booking platform for salons and other appointment businesses, with online payments, a mobile app in 7 languages and booking through AI assistants like ChatGPT. I built it and run it in production; a salon in Geneva runs its bookings on it.
- An internal platform for a studio in Amsterdam: a document-chat assistant plus CRM, cash flow and hiring data in one app, used daily by non-technical staff. Every number in an answer comes from SQL, not from the model.
- A self-hosted RAG assistant shipped to client organizations as Docker images, with role-based access and an admin dashboard.
- Perron, a chat app for every train station in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, and several mobile games on the App Store and Google Play.
How I work
I'm available about 16 hours a week, mostly remote. I work through my own company (KvK registered) and invoice with VAT. I prefer projects with a clear scope and result, and I'll tell you early if something won't work. My working language is English.

Studio WIP
Built the studio's main internal platform (Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL with pgvector): a document-chat assistant plus CRM, cashflow and hiring data in one app, used daily by non-technical staff. - The assistant answers only from uploaded documents and live studio records, with inline citations and each user's own permissions. Business figures always come from SQL, never from the model. - Agentic RAG with local embeddings, vision ingestion of scans and charts, and tool calling through MCP, n8n and Matrix. - Per-turn tracing, automatic quality grading, an eval set, and usage, cost and latency analytics. - Built Agent Session Manager: a self-hosted RAG assistant with role-based access, citations and an admin dashboard, shipped to client organisations as Docker images.

My own software studio (Dutch sole proprietorship). - Lorenly: multi-tenant booking SaaS for salons and other appointment businesses, in production. FastAPI API, React admin, PostgreSQL with row-level security per tenant, Redis, Stripe and Mollie payments, React Native app with OTA updates, 7 languages. - Public MCP booking server: AI assistants such as ChatGPT can browse services, check live availability and place appointment holds. - FamMedley: offline-first family organiser with a Go API, PostgreSQL and WebSockets. - Perron: a chat room for each train station, 7,512 stations in NL, BE and DE. - Mobile games for iOS and Android (C++ with SDL2, and Godot), released through CI. - Own production hosting: Docker, Traefik, Cloudflare, pull-based deploys and self-hosted GitHub Actions runners.

Built the self-hosted multi-user web app for the company's Claude data assistant, with 22 vetted query functions over MySQL and PostgreSQL. - Containerised the API and moved secrets out of the repository. - Set up CD with GitHub Actions: tests on every branch and PR, a database backup before each deploy, and health-gated releases with rollback.
