I am a 50-year-old translator from the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium with 20+ years of experience in translating French and English texts into Dutch. My specialisms are (sustainable) energy (solar and wind energy), legal texts (general terms and conditions, contracts, tenders, quotations, scope statements), real estate and urban development, technical and software manuals, marketing and media copy, social security and healthcare-related texts. My career as a translator started directly after graduating in 2002, as a freelancer. After an illness in 2005, I started work as an in-house proofreader and translator for a Brussels-based translation agency. The experience gained there allowed me to pursue my career as an in-house translator for a variety of organizations active in the field of real estate and urban development, social security, healthcare and IT services.

After 2017, I picked up freelance translation again while also travelling as a house-sitter and pet-sitter in France and Belgium. My current clients are active in solar and wind energy and sustainable energy consultancy, in legal advice and real estate, project management software, social security and social services, tree health management and in marketing.

As I also hold a degree in Political and Social Science (specializing in Media and Communication Studies), I am equally interested in translating everything related to political and social science, public relations, media and communication, psychology, sociology, (geo)politics and history.
